New Details Surface About the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies
New information has come to light concerning the tragic passing of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.
A Initial Report
A source indicates referencing a family associate, a practitioner arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the house. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.
Upon entering the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her contacted 911. Afterward, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Proceedings
Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained and is ineligible for bail.
Disputed Reports
The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
Additionally refuted widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement includes descriptions of reportedly "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. While the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they maintained that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Details
According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
