Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Face Members of Parliament's Inquiry After Allegations of Bias in Disclosed Memorandum
We open with questions from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, who oversees the group.
She initiates by providing background to the leaked document authored by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.
"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning this way or that way, My only wish is for it straight, impartial and just," he says.
When asked whether he believes the BBC is structurally prejudiced, he responds: "Absolutely not. It is important to note, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is exceptional - including documentary and entertainment shows."
But he adds: "There is real work that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
The second former external British Broadcasting Corporation consultant interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she views the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it has a "continuous process and active debate" regarding dynamic and complex topics.
"Did the BBC ready to engage in a genuine dialogue and exchange and take action?" she questions. "From my perspective, indeed, they were."
